Today was supposedly the windup for class 4i of 2006 (3D-2N ) chalet over at Costa Sands, but I left for home yesterday noon after staying for a day & night.
This was my first overnight chalet! My mum has finally snapped up several strings of restictions that were put up just for me, at last. She never allowed me to (stay overnight anywhere before). Guess that's what 17 years of age brings you - slightly more freedom. =)
I assume Day One is always the most enjoyable one... and so it was. A group of us who reached Pasir ris on time had to do the shopping for the bbq that evening. That includes food + some bbq equipments that I had no inkling of.
We reached the chalet at 3, and a few of us girls basically lazed around the room, playing cards, studying Maths. Haha. Learnt of a new card game called 'Twenty-Four'. Kinda mathematical game. It is mind-boggling but certainly addictive! And Nicole was mentioning about joining Singapore Idol next year! That's so cool! I bet a 101% she'll get some recognization. Her singing could melt anyone's heart. =D
Time dwell on until about 5, at which the barbecue finally commenced. Most of the food were tainted with those blackish 'idunnowhatyoucallthem' thing. It sticks when you over-barbecued it. Chao Tah you can say. But the Franks chicken hot-dogs taste nice all the same. :) Ate a few of those chicken wings, satay, fish balls and got back into the room, where we watched Ch U's Campus Superstar 2. Those guys in my class were commenting rather negatively, one contestant after another. Except for one, F3 or F4, who looks and sings decent enough for their standard. Hahaha. And then I think Kat (or was it someone else?) spoke about the reminisce of early last year, where we had to go Mediacorp every Monday night to support Adriano in his endeavor. Those times back in Secondary.
So the show ended, and we all stayed in the room watching the Ch 8 drama. Didn't know many watched this show, even the malay girls!
Boredom was getting into me as the novelty of staying overnight wears off. It was about 11 only and Phoebe was almost dozing! I tried to sleep but it was useless because for one, I'm too used to sleeping at 2am, and the room was absolutely noisy! haha.
So I just lay there until... news got into our ears that James' guitar was wrecked, by A STRANGER! That was definitely something to be furious about. The stranger conveniently picked up the James' 'temporarily-forsaken' guitar and walked off with his lass. James was playing soccer with some others outside Escape when he realised the guitar was picked up by some remote stranger and chased after him. After the confrontation, the girl told the guy to throw the guitar (in malay) and this dumbbell acted like her loyal dog or what and wrecked the guitar into pieces by slamming it against the pillar at the bus-stop. HORRIBLE BEHAVIOR! The guitar was in its case. James carried it back to where they were playing soccer previously. Sad case. To think I was strumming it moments before back at the chalet. I felt guilty, because it was some of us who were cajoling him to go home and take his guitar here. Now he has brought it out apiece, only to bring it back it shatters. The police was called but it was for null. They can't do anything cuz those mischief-makers were gone. I detest such mischief-makers! They're just out to create hell in other people's life. They can't think for nuts. GRR!
Got back into the chalet, calmed. Then we played cards again - daidee and 24. I tried to do a magic trick but failed big time. Haha! One by one, they fall asleep. There was a group of them outside talking, while in the room left awake are me, kat, ben, jianwen. Kept daidee-ing until we got bored of it and switched game. Haha. Imagine playing maths in the wee hours of the morning! Fun fun. Then it was 5 when the 3 of them had to retire. I laid down until honghui called me to go out to watch sunrise. I did, and we were sitting on one of the benches. Waited for a grueling half-hour. Dawn came upon us, without notice! Did not manage to catch the sunrise in the end... I better do my research the next time I want to catch it. Like which part of Pasir ris park can you see the sunrise and stuff. =_=
The sky was parted into two. One was blue-ish grey (brighter) while the other part was an orange glow. Then the mid-point was a water spout! I was wondering what it was. Honghui said it was smoke. lol. I thought it was a tornado or something and I actually thought it was moving. But it was quite a distance so maybe my eyes were playing tricks. Then I saw the news last night and there were people who reported seeing 3 water spouts from pasir ris area. So then, I realised that tornado-like thingy was a water spout. Weird weather phenomenon we see nowadays...
Waterspouts spotted off east coast of Singapore
SINGAPORE: More waterspouts have been spotted in Singapore.
Callers to the MediaCorp News hotline reported seeing several off the east coast.
There was no calm before the storm, as dark clouds over SAF Yacht Club at Changi spun into tower-high water spouts.
And eyewitnesses say they saw more than one spinning off the waters of Singapore.
"From where I stood, it was about 10 storeys high. There were three of them. They were about a few metres away from each other. There was one more that was forming. We could see water spinning at the top but it wasn't fully formed yet at the bottom," says Ariff Wahid from the SAF Yacht Club.
"There were a lot of waterspouts coming near to the club. But actually it was very far. It started to disappear half an hour later. It was spinning very fast towards one of the big ships there," says Fadilah Hajis, a member of staff at the SAF Yacht Club.
About 20 people including staff and guests at the club spotted the phenomenon from as early as 10 in the morning. Most said it lasted for about half an hour before heavy rain took over.
The last time something similar was reported was at East Coast Park in late May 2007.
The National Environment Agency confirmed Tuesday's sighting. - CNA/yy
I saw it at 6.30am! Not 10am. haha. Whatever, but this is certainly strange.
Me and hui went back to the chalet at 6.30 around there. I caught my 2 hours of beauty sleep before Phoebe woke me up at 8.30 with a packet of milo hovering above me. Haha. I kept squinting. Was feeling really groggy. Then me, pb, hui, and Kat headed to Downtown's East mac for breakfast and also to buy back for others. Welsonn's treat!
After which, we went pooling with Raymond, Thiensoon, Wengsing. Pooled for so long I was already dulled by this. I saw Zhi Yong at the pooling area too by coincidental.
Intended to go Escape but it was raining heavily... too bad for us. Headed back to chalet, stayed for a little while before me and Eden head home.
Slept for 4 hours straight after I plunged onto my hone's bed. Haha. I woke up and my room's all dark. Turned out to be eight at night. Dinnered and studied Chemistry. Sigh. Chemistry and Economics, such heavy subjects! And I still haven't touched my Econs! =S
I had my dental appointment today. Did washing, scaling only... While my brother extracted one of his teeth (ouch). He's a dead-log now after eating the painkillers. Lucky I need not extract! Whew...
Looking forward to next Monday - 18th June. For 3 reasons. ;) Bye!
PS: So many commented I've become 'zi lian'! -_- my sec 4's classmates did so, and then now Reb. But it's not a crime to take your own pictures right? We're girls afterall! haha.
PPS: Much thanks to Kat and Mr Toh for the success of this gathering! =)
