Today was kind of a 'City' pilgrimage for me. Ha =)

I spent the afternoon around the Esplanade with someone special! We were just sitting by the Singapore river and enjoying the sights from afar. Visited the Merlion Park as well and we spotted a stunning rainbow which was stretched across the river right to the other end. I want the picture!!

Anyway, after which I headed to the floating stadium for my usual weekly NDP training... This time, my hands were geared for pictures. =)

The ferris-wheel (without its carts yet of course.)
I will try you one day! Haha.

The City view from the stadium!

The stadium. (from the audience seating.)

They had parachutings during today's integrated rehearsal!! There were about 15 parachutists... 5 at a time.
See them descend!

They're nearer...

and nearer...

Almost there!

Almost, almost there. . .

And they landed, one after another. No time to take anymore pictures of the parachutists. I find them quite admirable for their daring spirit! Imagine you high up there, bracing the strong wind all alone. You have no hold over it, just those 2 handles to control the direction of the parachute. Really cool. Not many are up for this. Anyway, none landed on the river, which I was kinda worried about.

Today's training was topped off with 'waiting' and more 'waiting'. Supposed reporting time was - 5pm. Turned out to be a phony. All of us just sat at the shaded (thank god it was shaded) stands and waited for a good 2 hours, before the actual actions kick in. Could had just followed my brother's suit and report at 6.40pm. -_-" Okay no lah, that's way irresponsible. Tsk.

Running in 'holding' area... waiting for the signal... "Finale"

Waiting for everyone to assemble... Had more than enough time to take a picture of the colourful seatings from the performing stage... lol.

Hate the "Finale"! Always have to be stuck at the holding area for half-hour before we can run in. Argh! Wait, wait & more waits!

The wait did not rested even after the whole practice ended.

Had to spend another half-hour for the chartered bus to Bedok to come fetch us.

Took this picture from the audience stand while waiting for the bus to come... Really so much time to spare.

Sure, the 'waiting' is irksome. But I guess it is vital to the success of the whole show. Can't expect VIPs and audience to wait right! So performers have got to wait and stand by way before their actual performance start.

Anyway, it's Home sweet home at about 11.45pm! And I guess it's time for some sleep and a little Physics tomorrow. Bye!
